So, I haven’t been teaching for over 3 decades, and finally, FINALLY! I can’t stand it any longer. There is a part of me that wants to produce an efficient reading thing. And I say thing, because I don’t know whether I want it to be a documentary, cartoon, audio with illustrations – so many options. But I have taken young adults, 4 classes each quarter, 15 – 20 students in a class, from reading at the 4th to 6th-grade level to a level commensurate with reading college texts. A number of these young folk even learn to ENJOY reading, which is the most rewarding of all to a teacher like me.
So, I am going to figure out how to produce this “thing,” but in the interim, let me suggest you go to this YouTube video. I watched in awe, and I kept saying over and over, NOT CGI. it is NOT CGI. I guarantee you will be amazed and enlightened.
